in touching
for Keikei
december 2022
in the glen

before
dawn,
falling
asleep
again as
one, head
by your
shoulder,
your fingers
again &
again
through
my hair,
rivulets
down
an iron
roof,
the pop
& flare of
tui call
in rain,
my nerves
played at
their horizon
along the
furrows
& ridges
of your
touch,
as the
night’s
narrowing,
hourglass
drops its
fading
grains
of dark
away
