The music accompanying the reading is taken from a performance by Italian pianist Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli of Chopin’s ‘Andante Spianato’ that he added as a prelude to his Grande Polanaise Brillante Op.22. A blackbird stamped the approval of its own melody upon it.
