was
balanced
on calm
before a
storm
that
happened
off the

the forecasters
had drawn

shall be the willow july 2020 ‘i had a little nut-tree nothing would it bear but a silver apple and a golden pear; the kind of Spain’s daughter came to visit me, and all for the sake of my little nut-tree’ from the 18th century nursery rhyme
..and the eel swam through the tree… a Rivercat snap
i grew a tree of silver chimes the wind would rhyme upon, i grew another of golden pears, each one a year of plenty.
a lady with look of eye that sank the heart in honey came, her smile told me such miraculous trees only found their worth in money,

life
a
bubble,
some have
reasoned
some have
sung
some have
seen,
a bubble
on those
waves of
the wake
and were
it of stuff
we could
take in our
hands,
it would
be a ship
of whispers
in a bottle,
the wisps of
masts raised
along the
miniature
deck,
simply
a bubble
of a ship
in a
bottle!
The music is an arrangement of the Japanese traditional song ‘Sakura’ (Cherry Blossom) by Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu, recorded here by the Shinyukai choir on the 1994 album ‘Takemitsu: A Song Of Circles And Triangles – Choral Works’.
